- MARCH 9:00 AM. ANNUAL DR. JOHN C. TRETTIN MEMORIAL 5K RUN/WALK, LOMPOC.
This race was established to honor the memory of John Trettin, a local doctor, coach, father, husband, and friend, who was tragically killed while bicycling in the summer of 2000. This race starts and finishes at the Cabrillo High School Track, 4350 Constellation Road, Vandenberg Village. The run will be held on the Cabrillo High School cross-country course out in the hills behind the school. Registration begins at 8:00 AM. Entry fees: To be determined. Limited Edition Commemorative T-shirts available. Awards three deep male and female in each division and overall male and female plaques. - APRIL 9:00 AM. ANNUAL SCOTT WILLIAMS MEMORIAL 5K RUN/WALK, LOMPOC.
The Williams Memorial was inaugurated in 2007 by Scott Leedham and the Federal Correctional Institution on the 10th anniversary of the murder of guard Scott Williams. The course offers some of the best views of the Lompoc Valley from a northwest angle rarely seen, even by longtime locals.
- MAY 9:00 AM. LA PURISIMA MISSION 5K RUN/WALK AND 10K RUN, LOMPOC.
These events take place entirely within the La Purisima Mission. The courses consist of blacktop dirt and "some hills." The 5K run is back on this year. Both events will start at 9:00 AM. Registration will start at 8:00; follow the road behind the visitor's center to large oak tree (by the horse trough). Entry fees: To be determined. - JUNE 8:00 AM. FLOWER FESTIVAL PARADE ROUTE 3-MILES RUN AND WALK, LOMPOC.
Start and finish in front of the Lompoc Shopping Center, H and Pine Streets. Registration is near Blockbuster Video and starts at 7.
Entry fee: To be determined.

- JULY 8:00 AM. LOMPOC LIZARD BREATH FENCE LINE +/- 8-MILE FUN RUN, LA PURISIMA MISSION, LOMPOC. Approximately eight miles, sandy and hilly. Very scenic for those who enjoy that. Very tough for those who are looking for a challenge. Meat for the ultramarathoner, but not recommended for someone who is either A) not familiar with the terrain or B) not in very good shape. No whiners allowed. You will sign a waiver, Bubba. Signups start at 7 AM; with the run/walk starting at 8 AM. Cost to be determined. Famed Lizard Breath T-shirts to volunteer helpers and to male and female winners. Certificates to all finishers. - SEPTEMBER 8:00 AM. PARK-TO-PARK, 8-MILE RUN, LOMPOC. LOOKING FOR A RACE DIRECTOR!! PLEASE CONTACT AL HUNT IF INTERESTED!! Start at Miguelito Park and finish at La Purisima Mission State Park. The course is asphalt (a good portion of which slopes gently downhill). Registration: 7:00 at Miguelito Park. Awards three deep in six age groups men and women plus a Clydesdale division, no age divisions. Rides back to Miguelito Park will be available for run-ners leaving their vehicles at the start.
- SEPTEMBER 8:00 AM. VALLEY OF THE FLOWERS HALF MARATHON Flyer RUN AND WALK, LA PURISIMA STATE PARK, LOMPOC. SAME WONDERFULL COURSE!!!!!
The course begins and ends near the Visitor's Center at the park. The course is hilly and very scenic with majestic views of the La Purisima Mission. Race day packet pick up and race day registration starts at 6:30. There will be no packet pick up prior to Saturday. Entry fees to be determined, entry includes a specially designed Valley of the Flowers jersey. There are 10 age divisions plus Clydesdales and walkers.
