Individual email accounts are available for $5/month, and you may choose to add an extra email account to your existing services, or purchase stand-alone email services. Business users with a web domain hosted by us can also create personalized email addresses at their domain and use our mail services to process mail, all transparently to their customers. Email accounts include 25MB of mail storage space and all the features below:

• Spam Filtering: We enable you to control unsolicited email, without diverting your email or having someone else make a decision on what you should and shouldn.t receive. Our Spam Assassin service is included in our standard email accounts, and puts you in control in the battle against spam. Spam Assassin scans every piece of incoming email and adds hidden headers to the top of the email that you can use to filter your email. With a few settings, you can tailor your email program to read these headers and set aside or even immediately trash any email that has been flagged as potential spam. We have a 99% success rate with this feature and it can be tuned to your liking.

Impulse also subscribes to several spam blocking services, or "black lists" which enables us to deny email delivery from known sources from which large amounts of spam typically originates.

• Web-Based Mail: Web-based mail access allows you to check and manage your email from multiple locations or while traveling. Impulse's web-based email also has calendar, task management, and contact list functions - all of which can be used simply and easily from anywhere in the world!

• Virus Checking: The mail server automatically scans every piece of incoming and outgoing email for viruses and quarantines the email if a virus is found. The sender of the email is warned, and the email never gets into (or out of) your system, thus safeguarding your computer (and others) from a possible infection!

• IMAP Protocol Support: If you utilize several different computers to access your email and want to keep using your current email client (such as Outlook and Outlook Express), IMAP allows you to manage and view your email from the server, rather than re-downloading your email box contents every time you log on from a different computer. With 20MB of disk space accompanying each email account, you will have ample space to take advantage of the convenience of IMAP.

• Personal Email Addresses: With larger email providers, you would compete for email address availability with millions of users, leaving you with an impersonal email address like dc1234567@largemailprovider.com. The only restriction we place on user names is that they must be from 3-16 characters in length and can not be first names (ie. joe@impulse.net).
