Challenge

Select Staffing is an aggressive growth company with over 80 acquisitions consummated during the past two decades. This created the challenge of integrating key regional offices into a single phone system, one that quickly bring up phones in new offices and make relocating them easy.  Select also needed to create a high availability Data Center in California with a Disaster Recovery Hot Site in Texas to collect time card data from over 400 locations and thousands of employees.

Solution

Impulse designed Select Staffing’s entire WAN and telecom infrastructure including redundant Internet feeds, a robust Cisco networking topology, and our ClearStar hosted phone system.  Impulse enables Select to quickly activate telephones across the nation using a single vendor for the phone system, phone service, Internet, and network design as well as ongoing management.  Using the flexibility of ClearStar Select has a call center that spans the entire globe from Santa Barbara, to Florida, to India.

Impulse has also played an integral role in the design of both of Select's primary data centers, including the implementation of their own AS number and BGP for seamless failover across redundant fiber connections in Santa Barbara, CA and El Paso, TX.  To optimize file transfers between these sites Impulse manages Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) appliances.
