Testing The Connection

	When you start Outlook and have not selected Work off-line, your modem will dial and connect to Impulse.

	Outlook will check for new messages.

	Click on the Mail tab to show your mailboxes.

	Click on the New Message button to compose a new email message.

	Address a new message to yourself to test your email settings. Then click the Send button.

	Click the Outbox to view your outgoing message.

	Select Tools | Check for New Mail to send your message.

	If you have selected Work off-line, first select Tools | Remote Mail | Connect to connect to Impulse. Then send your message.

	After several seconds, check for New Mail again. Click the Inbox and double-click your new email message.
