Impulse Customer Support Screen Shots

Thank you for visiting our screen shots section. We have recently updated our email servers - please use the following screenshots and settings to properly configure your email client. If you're looking for a new email client, we highly recommend our new webmail interface. Click here to learn more then click here to try it.

These instructions assume you have opened Apple's Mail application before and are changing settings in an email account that has already been configured in the program. If you are setting up a new account, Apple should already be walking you through the initial setup process. The information the setup assistant will require is provided in various fields below.

The following screenshots were taken from the most recent version of Apple Mail.

  1. From the Mail menu, select Preferences.

  3. Click on Accounts at the top of the preferences window. Your Impulse email account should be displayed in the Accounts list on the left. Select it if it is not already highlighted.
  4. Enter your full email address in the text field for Email Address.
  5. For the Incoming Mail Server, specify imap.impulse.net.
  6. Enter your full email address as the User Name. Your User Name must include @impulse.net (or @fix.net if your address is at fix.net).
  7. Enter your password into the Password field.

  8. From the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) pop-up menu, select Edit Server List.... Older versions of Apple Mail will have a Server Settings... button in this area.

  9. With the Impulse mail server selected in the list, click on Advanced. You should already have an Impulse mail server in the list of available servers. If your Internet service is not provided by Impulse Internet Services, your ISP's outgoing mail server may already be specified here and, in some cases, may be a better choice.
  10. Enter 587 for the Server port.
  11. From the pop-up menu next to Authentication, select Password.
  12. Enter your full email address as the User Name. Your User Name must include @impulse.net (or @fix.net if your address is at fix.net).
  13. Enter your password into the Password field.
