Dunn Middle School Hike Club!

Marc's Hike Club is now a 20+ year tradition at DMS! As the weather and the school workload and my own schedule permit, we hike into the wildlands that surround the Santa Ynez Valley after school every Thursday. We leave school at PE time and return by 5:30. If there are waves, we might go body-surfing at Refugio. If the river is running, we might go tubing at Paradise. Often we bushwack our own trails. Poison Oak is always possible, and so are tired muscles. Homework still has to be done! Santa Barbara County is a great area to explore. We are perched between desert and redwood forest. Where else can you find surfing, climbing rocks, a limestone cave, waterfalls, swimming holes, steelhead trout, wild huckleberries, gourmet mushrooms, and real Great Basin Sagebrush all within 20 miles?
